USCAP Installs Its First Digital Slide Scanner

PALM SPRINGS, CA — The United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP) is pleased to announce the installation of a Hamamatsu NanoZoomer S20 Digital slide scanner* at the Palm Springs Interactive Learning Center. Starting in September 2024, the scanner will be utilized for all courses at the Interactive Learning Center.

This addition will allow USCAP to scan and share digital slides with all course attendees at the Interactive Learning Center and include them as resources in the USCAP eLearning Center. The addition of whole slide images will ensure pathologists have the best educational resources available. Dr. Adeboye O. Osunkoya, Professor, Emory University School of Medicine and Immediate Past President of USCAP said, “With the purchase of a new Slide Scanner for the Interactive Center, USCAP’s adoption of Digital Pathology will enhance the ongoing provision of top-notch Education to Pathologists and Trainees worldwide. In addition, the well curated high-resolution digital images will be able to be accessed anytime and anywhere, offering unparalleled convenience to learners.”
