USCAP University Partnership Program (U²P²)
About the Program
The USCAP University Partnership Program (U²P²) extends USCAP’s commitment to advancing pathology education and supporting future pathology leaders around the world.
As an extension of the USCAP Global Partner Travel Award Program, U²P² provides selected pathologists from under-resourced countries with the opportunity to attend the USCAP Annual Meeting and participate in a four-week observership at a leading academic pathology institution.
Through mentorship, subspecialty exposure, and immersive learning experiences, participants gain knowledge, skills, and professional connections that can strengthen pathology education and practice within their home institutions and communities.
Due to the highly individualized nature of the program, only two participants are selected each year.
Application Timeline
- USCAP operates on a two-year planning cycle.
- We are currently not accepting applications for visiting pathologists for the 2027 USCAP Annual Meeting in Vancouver, BC. Applications for 2028, will open at the end of November for eligible Global Partner award recipients.
- We are not accepting host applications for future years at this time.
- Selected institutions will be notified at least 12 months in advance of the observership start date.
Selection Process
- Only 1–2 visiting pathologists are selected each year.
- Recipients will be selected exclusively from the pool of Global Partner Travel Awardees chosen for that specific year.
- All applications are reviewed by the Advancement and Philanthropy Committee.
- Host institutions are matched with visiting pathologists based on predefined criteria, including Global Partner subspecialty interests.
- Host institutions will be notified about their selection and the visit coordinated with the USCAP Advancement and Philanthropy Committee and staff.
