Introducing the Modern Pathology Editor’s Academy Program

USCAP and Modern Pathology are in the process of creating the Editor’s Academy, a program designed to provide junior faculty members (i.e., instructors and assistant professors) with peer review training and experience under the mentorship of distinguished leaders in the field.

Modern Pathology is a high-impact international journal owned by the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP), the leader in in continuing medical education for pathologists in North America. The journal aims to provide an authoritative platform for publishing the highest quality clinical and translational research studies in pathology.

The journal is seeking applicants interested in learning manuscript review. 

• MD or equivalent is required
• Applicant must hold a faculty appointment at the level of instructor or assistant professor at an academic institution
• Membership in USCAP is required
• Applicants must have a demonstrated record of academic productivity with at least three abstract submissions to the USCAP annual meeting for the past three years and 10 publications, at least five of which are first author

• A current CV, including a publication list
• An explanation of why you are interested in the program (maximum 250 words)
• A short description of prior experience in scientific reviewing (maximum 250 words)
• An abstract from one of your publications
