Course Description
The USCAP Diagnostic Pathology course has a long tradition of providing up-to-date, current,
and state-of-the-art education for practicing surgical pathologists and residents, and 2011 will be all of that
and more! Participants rave about our speakers, who are nationally and internationally known for their diagnostic
expertise and their exceptional teaching styles. This year, however, the course has been completely revised to
provide you with an even better educational experience than ever before. You can look forward to all new content,
new speakers, and a fresh and exciting new format designed to utilize highly effective teaching tools.

Do you go back to practice after an intense and exhilarating course like Diagnostic Pathology and feel like you've
learned so much, but how will you ever remember it all? We all do! Diagnostic Pathology has dramatically changed
its format specifically to enhance your learning and retention. Traditional didactic lectures will be focused in
diagnostically challenging areas in each major organ system or subspecialty area. The speakers will integrate teaching
on morphology with diagnostic assays, including immunohistochemistry and molecular advances. Diagnostic Pathology
also recognizes that we retain information better if we can use it shortly after learning. We have brand-new interactive
sessions designed to give you an opportunity to actively reinforce your learning. There will be live slide review
sessions using a video-microscope. The faculty will have cases to show, but we also encourage you to bring interesting
cases to share with the faculty and other participants. Faculty will also host "Pop-Quiz" sessions, which will use the
audience response system and short, targeted cases and questions to reinforce key teaching points.

Diagnostic Pathology knows that your learning is more enjoyable in a relaxed, pleasant and friendly atmosphere. Our
new schedule is designed with plenty of time to learn and for fun; some sessions will be run twice, in early bird and
night-owl time spots to suit each person's circadian rhythm. Whether you bring family or friends and pack in activities,
or come alone for a peaceful and quiet week, you will enjoy the spectacular setting of Jackson Hole. Count on meeting
the faculty at the pool or at local sight-seeing spots, with their family members and guests, too. The course fee
includes a comprehensive syllabus, a CD-ROM containing full PowerPoint presentations for each topic presented with over
3,500 images. Daily continental breakfast and two lunches are provided for the registrants, and we invite you to bring
your accompanying guests to the course reception.
