Practical Issues for Practicing Surgical and Cytopathologists
This 17.25 hour CME advanced course is designed to provide updated pragmatic, problem-solving
knowledge for practicing surgical and cytopathologists who also wish to remain current with the changing
trends in cytodiagnosis and laboratory management. It addresses the resolution of diagnostic pitfalls
relative to each of the major organ systems studied by cytopathology/FNA. Diagnostic dilemmas and
potential pitfalls commonplace and unique to the major organ systems are explored. Correlation is
fundamental to the practice of cytopathology; where appropriate radiologic imaging as well as concurrent

are expected to have a working knowledge of basic cytopathology. A
comprehensive syllabus and a CD-ROM containing illustrative PowerPoint presentations and handouts
for each topic is included in the course fee. This course is intended to provide a pleasant, informal
