The Executive Committee of the Society for Hematopathology determines the subjects for symposia based on input from the membership of the Society.

The topic was chosen from a survey of members conducted by the Society for Hematopathology which identified reactive and abnormal lymphoid proliferations as a topic that they were highly interested in for a future symposium.

Rapid advances in understanding the ancillary molecular studies in reactive and atypical lymphoid proliferations have occurred in recent years, and aid in understanding and diagnosing these lymphoid proliferations.

The purpose of the program will be to provide members of the Society and others with an interest in hematopathology an in-depth discussion of recent advances in the molecular pathogenesis and understanding of reactive and abnormal lymphoid proliferations. |
